About Book

Flames of Love is an anthology nurtured with affection, pain, passion & absence. The writer, with great enthusiasm, paved the way of how love becomes a crucial “act” that all must get indulged in & how it, sometimes, turns us into a mirror set towards a wall to grace solitude. If you have ever wanted to love or you’ve been loved but got lost in between, Flames of Love is all you need to search & find yourself.

  1. Tukur Ridwan

“For every book of poems to have their seats in the hearts of readers, the poet must learn the obtainable tricks and philosophies of love, the practical guides to the achievement of sustainable romance, because poetry would come at any point in time to replace textbooks when we need more aesthetic absorption of knowledge than academic; where questions of love are needing urgent answers. Readers do not only want to read and enjoy or critique. They also want to learn the ways of words and the wit it enables in conversations where romance is the means and the end. The author of this book of poems made a commendable attempt to demystify love from the angles of hurt, happiness and the heart in its neutral state. The poet tried his literary best. Flames of Love is a must read, if love is still a thing to learn, to give, to take and to let go. Flames of Love burns the heart into gold.”

This rich collection boldly explores love in succulent verses. Ololade creates a web of contrasting emotions — fondness, rejection & heartbreaks. His lines are as matchsticks setting eyes on fire; terse verses, with a musicality that lures & draws you whole into its flames.

First a spectrum of emotions and a celebration of desire, Flames of love is the needed projection of love that fuels the party mood and permits healthy eroticism. So much eloquence, boldness and candor expressed in naked lines. Olaniyi, I must say, has not only been a boatsman of desires, stalking the mysticism of humans in their pristine forms, liberating afflictions, but also he is a leveller of thirst and hunger, a provider of succour and pleasure. On his lines I feed and I am satisfied.

Love is anything we could relate with, love is life, life is love. Love is the medicine that never expires, only when we find true love: but Olaniyi made us to understand the perfect way to define love, he shapes the he(art) of love, making the beauty sinks into our head— that there’s nothing without love, because it’s light that makes darkness jealous. Olaniyi is a fine poet I respect so much, and this collection has come to heal.
